A Bit of Sunshine
Today we went for our first walk as family of 4. It was a bit slow but the last day of autumn turned on the weather for us and pushing our little girl along in the sunshine after days inside was glorious.

| Not overly impressed with the reason for needing to do this but it's temporary and Joel is pretty chuffed at being able to help with the feeding. |
Pregnancy Brain Fail
Getting all organised and putting dinner in the slow cooker only to discover at dinner time that I'd plugged in and turned on the sandwich toaster instead.
mmm... nice hot air sandwiches for dinner tonight.

My First Mother's Day
Happy Mother's day to our wonderful Mum's! We love you both very much. And I'm very sorry that I got your presents switched around and sent you the wrong ones... What can I say? Pregnant brain. Sorry!
And Happy Mother's Day to all of my wonderful mum friends. You are inspiring, encouraging and a joy to share this journey with. Even if your littles are too small to make you a fancy dinner or do anything extra special for you today know that I think you're amazing.
And Happy Mother's Day to me! I can't believe I can finally celebrate this day from the other side. Sure, the baby isn't out yet but she/he is in there and that makes me a mum already. Plus, I have a fluffy puppy who think I'm his mum anyway!
Joel is blessing me with a day when I don't have to think about food at all but get to eat yummy things. He's using my gift of a slow cooker to make lamb roast! He also cut me the most giant bunch of pink chrysanthemums from our garden and wrote me a beautiful card.
Feeling so blessed today. Wonderful mum's, amazing friends, the best husband and a baby on the way. I hope you are feeling the love today too.

Afternoon Tea Party
I made my favourite gluten free chocolate cake into cupcakes with lemon icing. And because baking just that much nearly exhausted me I served a few other easy things: crackers and dips, chocolate kisses and Red D'Anjou pear. It was more than enough for the 3 of us (and dear Joel who earned his place at the women's table by coming home from work to make the coffees and hot chocolate with his fancy machine).
I showed off the baby's room, caught up on their news and had a lovely afternoon relaxing in wonderful company.
Henry James was right - there really are few hours more agreeable than the hour dedicated to afternoon tea.
This table is made up of things from my family:
~ Table cloth, glass plate and white/floral gold rimmed tea cup and saucers from my Nana (the tea cup the spoons are in)
~ Cake stand from my Grandma
~ Flowers from a plant my mum gave me
~ Cutlery and Gold rimmed tea cup and saucers from my mother in law
~ Glass parfait bowls (holding dip) from my 'brother' Adrian
~ Napkins made by me.
~ and the actual table was made by Joel!
Super Dog
Saving the world (in his dreams) from kids on scooters, babies in prams and men on bikes.
Thank goodness for us.
