A Tiny Party for My Two Year Old
Our sweet girl turned two last week and I couldn't let it go by without celebrating her fabulous little self. We had a Tiny Themed party because she loves all things 'tiny tiny'. Tiny milk and juices, tiny hot chocolate marshmallows, tiny toasts, tiny pizzas and all the other yummy goodies that tiny party should have. Including 3 tiny birthday cakes. Strawberry like the milk because that's her favourite.
The party started with a bit of a sad because I had to wake her up from her nap 10 minutes before everyone arrived. But she warmed up when she found her friends waiting to play with the pink sparkly play dough. The tiny tea table with her tin and wooden tea toys was big hit with all the children - almost as much as the strawberry milk and berry juice was. I used some Origrami prints to track her life from a week before she was born to 2 weeks before her party. They started at the from door and followed around to end at the gold 2 above the table. It's amazing to see the change gradually but all at once.
After singing 'Happy Birthday' and blowing the candles out first go we unwrapped her gifts. I couldn't have been prouder of the way she opened the cards first, waited while I read them to her, looked the person who it was from in the eye and thanked them by name before opening each gift. She had a few very eager helpers who were also very good at holding back and letting her have her moment despite their enthusiasm. When she'd opened all her gifts she handed everyone their little thank you boxes with another 'Thank you'. So cute! The grown ups received a box with tiny heart shaped cookies and the kids were given some mint green play dough and a slinky.
She was so perfectly behaved and adorable that I don't mind that I didn't get any photos of her silly self (which mostly came out after the party anyway!). She had wonderful time and we were reminded by how blessed we are to be her parents and to be surrounded here by such loving families.
Happy birthday darling girl! Mama love love loves you forever. xxx
Rachel. Tears in my eyes. You're such a beautifully amazing mama. Such a gorgeous little girl. I'm sure my little angel in heaven & Eleanora would have been great friends. Love you.
